Prebuilt word lists
Ready-made spelling lists you can open and practice from. No setup required. Each category below targets a skill early readers build from pre-kindergarten through third grade.
Open the app, pick a list that matches what your learner is working on, and start vowel, jumble, or flashcard practice on those words.
Dolch sight words
Dolch sight words are the small, high-frequency words that appear again and again in early readers, such as the, said, and they. Many cannot be sounded out letter by letter, so children build automatic recognition through repeated practice. When these words become familiar, learners read more fluently and spend less effort decoding every line.
View full list →CVC words
CVC words follow a consonant–vowel–consonant pattern with a short vowel in the middle, such as cat, sit, and hop.
Practicing CVC words strengthens phonemic awareness and gives new readers early wins before tackling longer or irregular spellings.
View full list →Word families
Word families group words that share the same ending pattern.
We organize lists around endings like -an, -at, -en, -et, -ig, -og, -ot, -ug, -un, and -ut so learners notice rhymes and repeating spellings. Once a child can read cat, hat and pat become easier because the ending stays the same; only the first letter changes.

Digraphs are two letters that work together as one sound. The Sh and Th patterns show up constantly in English and often confuse early readers who are still learning to match letters to sounds. Dedicated practice helps learners treat each digraph as a single sound instead of sounding out the letters separately.
